The History of the Peter Schaufuss Ballet
In 1979 the dream of starting a ballet company of his own took root and Peter Schaufuss go to work a task that required the best of management and organisational skills, and one that was as demanding physically as it was mentally.

But his plans had to be put on ice when new career opportunities were offered to him, both as a dancer and as a Artistic Director of three of the world's top ballet companies: London Feestival Ballet (renamed English National Ballet), The Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Royal Danish Ballet in his native Copenhagen. In 1995, however, he was given the opportunity to create a ballet company in Holstebro, one of Denmark's liveliest cultural centres, and two years later teh dancer's of the Peter Schaufuss took to the stage to open the Company's residency in the city with performances of Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty & The Nutcracker, which formed the Tchaikovsky Trilogy.

The Trilogy was danced not just in theatres all over Denmark but in Norway, Germany, Paris, Edinburgh, Santander, Istanbul and Hong kong, winning two prestigious theatre prizes. Since then more than 22 new full-length producitons have entered the company repertoire and the Peter Schaufuss Ballet has gone on to dance sell-out performances of all these works to audiences both in Denmark and many other countries, where the Company has performed to great acclaim wherever they perform, most notably in Britain in London'd West End.
